Who are FOAHS?
The Friends are a group of parents, staff and other people associated with
the school. Anyone connected with the school is welcome to join.
What do they do?
The FOAHS raise money to help fund the “extras” that make school
life better for the pupils. Recently they have funded the refurbishment of
the trampoline, provided the Maths department with some games for after school
club, the Science department have had a model torso, the Duke of Edinburgh
group were provided with ruck sack covers and the Technology department some
specialist drawing boards.
How often do the FOAHS meet?
The Friends normally meet once a month during the school year to arrange events
and discuss funding
What sort of events do they arrange?
The biggest event for the Friends is the annual bonfire and fireworks display
at Bidford Meadow. If the weather is good it is usual the best source of income
but it needs the most help to organise, especially on the day. The Friends
also organise bingo evenings, car boot sales, quizzes, an annual raffle and
they run a 100 Club too. However they are always looking for new ideas.
How do I get involved?
The Friends need all sorts of help. Some people join the committee and attend
the meetings. Others prefer to be on the helpers list so they can be called
on to assist at the bigger events if they are able to. It is up to you to
decide how much time you can give. If you think you may be interested then
complete the form below and we will be in touch. Thank you.
