The Key Stage 3 National Strategy is engaging with all parents and carers in order to achieve better social and educational outcomes for their children. The work reflects the objectives of the Green Paper 'Every Child Matters', which signals the Government's aim of putting parents and carers at the heart of the approach to improve the life chances of children. Following the success of 'Getting Involved', the 'I can explain!' DVD and the supporting leaflet provide ideas that parents and carers can use with their children.

'I can explain' focuses on level 5 and the key skill of explaining as it impacts on English, mathematics, science and ICT.
