Chromatic
means 'all the colours' or 'using all the notes' in Music. On the keyboard
this means using the black notes as well as the white notes. The black notes
are called Sharps and Flats. 'Sharp' means 'up a little' and
'Flat' means 'down a little'. Each black note has two names (F sharp is the
same as G flat, because up a little from F is the same as down a little from
G, and so on)
