KS3 Levels

In Key Stage 3 you should be working between levels 3 and 8. Here is a description of some of the levels.

Level 3
You can explain meanings contained in religious stories.
You can describe the key features of festivals and practices.
You notice that the way that some people act is because of their religion.
You understand that the lives and views of others affect everyone.
You can compare your ideas about life's difficult questions with other people.
You can see that your attitude and behaviour is affected by what you think is important.


Level 5

You can see differences and similarities in the beliefs and teachings of different religions.
You can see differences and similarities in the way religious people live their lives.
You can see differences and similarities in the way different people act because of their religion.
You can see that what you learn affects you as a person.
You can say what you feel about life's difficult questions.
You can say how other people's ideas have affected what you think is important.


Level 7
You can see how religious beliefs and teachings affect people today.
You can see how religious lives have been affected by what has happened in the past.
You can explain how central religious beliefs are represented by symbols.
You can defend your ideas about what it means to be an individual using arguments.
You can defend your opinions concerning life's difficult questions using arguments.
You can defend your opinions concerning moral issues that affect people today using arguments
