KEYSTAGE 3

In ICT lessons pupils learn how to use ICT for presentation, research, modelling, controlling events, multimedia and web page design. They also learn to use several different ICT applications to solve larger and more complex problems. This achieved through a formal 1 hour lesson each week.

The knowledge, skills and understanding that pupils gain is also applied to other areas of the curriculum where ICT is used extensively.

KEY STAGE 4

At Key Stage 4 ICT is a very popular option choice which leads to a GCSE qualification.

Pupils study how ICT is used in a variety of real-life contexts and become experienced in a wide range of computer software and hardware. The course is practically based and extends and builds upon the pupils’ experience at Key Stage 3. The course is a springboard for further study at higher levels in education as well as being a comprehensive course for pupils who leave school for computer-based job opportunities.

The course teaching material is entirely web-based and pupils are able to purchase copies of the teaching materials for use at home.
