PERSONAL,
SOCIAL & HEALTH EDUCATION
A programme of Personal and Social Education and Careers is delivered throughout
the school during a timetable lesson every fortnight. A variety of topics
are covered including relationships with others, citizenship and the community,
personal health, decision making and the world of work. This includes drugs,
alcohol, smoking and sex education. These topics are returned to throughout
the pupil's time at Alcester High School and dealt with in a manner appropriate
to their understanding.
Where appropriate outside speakers
are used to enhance the curriculum. These include the School Nurse, the Police,
our 16+ education and training providers, and Aids Care, Education & Training
(ACET).
SEX EDUCATION
Sex education is taught as part
of the P.S.H.E. programme throughout the school. Parents will be informed
when this is included in the curriculum. A copy of the School's Sex Education
Policy is available from School and is reviewed every year by the Governing
Body. |
